UNDERSTANDING TRUE BIBLE FELLOWSHIP and FAITH, part 13 quotes
1) Understanding True Bible Faith
7th Pillar – the Non-Immortality of the Wicked or of the Soul
God tells us about the resurrection:
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.” John 5:25-29.
“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years....And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:4-6, 14-15.
2) Every person is judgment bound, and will be judged according to theirr works.
“...it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Hebrews 9:27.
“For we all must appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10.
“Let us here the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (see also Matthew 25:31-46.)
3) There will be two different kinds of rewards – eternal life or eternal death, so there will be two different resurrections.
“...there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.” Acts 24:15.
Which resurrection occurs first?
“Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-52.
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.
4) What happens to those on the earth who do not ascend up to be with Jesus in the clouds?
“And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.” 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9.
“...whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming...because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved...but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:8-12.
“And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.” Jeremiah 25:33.
When Christ comes, the first resurrection occurs and all the righteous dead are raised to life to receive their reward of immortality, and then together with the righteous living are taken off the earth to heaven. But all the wicked living on the earth will be slain by the brightness of Christ’s coming. The earth will then be left littered with the bodies of the wicked dead whose corpses will be feasted on by scavenger birds until no sign is left of them (see Revelation 6:14-17, 19:11-18). Yet even these scavengers will eventually run out of food and will die, thus leaving the earth completely desolate (see Jeremiah 4:23-27; Isaiah 24:1,3).
How long is the earth to remain completely empty and desolate?
“But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished...” Revelation 20:5.
The Bible plainly declares that after Christ comes and the first resurrection takes place, there will be a period of 1000 years, and that none of the wicked will be resurrected back to life until after 1000 years are over! But is there anything living on the earth all through these 1000 years? Yes! The Devil or Satan or Lucifer is bound upon this desolate earth during these 1000 years, and he cannot escape! (See Revelation 20:2-3).
5) What will the righteous be doing in heaven with Christ for these 1000 years?
As priests and kings, they will be reviewing all the cases of the wicked dead – including the wicked angels and Lucifer, and in unison with Christ, will pass judgment upon all the wicked so they can receive their just reward after the second resurrection takes place (see Revelation 20:6, 4; 1 Corinthians 6:2-3).
This Bible truth is quite different than what is loudly portrayed by the majority of the preachers today! What is being advocated today through the pulpits, book stores, and even in the theaters, are various doctrines of devils -- such as the Rapture Theory. Many are being deceived into believing that after Christ comes there will be a 1000 year period of His rule on earth where the unsaved will have a second chance at salvation! (For a complete study on this, please click on “The Secret Rapture“). But the Bible of truth reveals a completely different picture, and many are now faced with having to choose between following the word of God, or continuing to follow the cunning lies of men!
There will be no second chance of salvation!
“Now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:2.
“Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” Hebrews 4:7.
6) After the 1000 years are over and the second resurrection occurs, what will all the wicked dead be resurrected to face?
“The wicked is reserved to the day of destruction...[and] they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.” Job 21:30.
“The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished”. 1 Peter 2:9.
This also holds true for the wicked angels!
“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.” Jude 1:6.
“God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment”. 1 Peter 2:4.
When the resurrection of damnation occurs, the lost will come forth from their graves (see Revelation 20:5). At this time, Satan is released for a little while, and he immediately begins again his work of deception (see Revelation 20:5,7-9). Determined to the end in their bitter hatred of God, of Jesus and of Their righteousness followers, the wicked under Satan's leadership try to capture the saints and take the holy city of the New Jerusalem by force. And it is at this time that their justified punishment is given them.
Fire then comes down from heaven which completely covers the entire surface of the earth and becomes like one giant fiery lake. All the wicked, including all who worship the Beast or its Image and/or receive the Mark of the Beast, along with all the evil angels and Satan himself will be tormented for ever and ever without rest day or night in this lake of fire and brimstone. As this is true, then will they ever be totally consumed and burned up and die the second time?
“For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch...the wicked...shall be ashes” Malachi 4:1, 3.
“Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.” Isaiah 47:14.
“The candle of the wicked shall be put out.” Proverbs 24:20.
“...and they shall be as though they had not been.” Obadiah 1:16.
7) Satan himself will even be totally burned up, and never will he be able to again trouble us or anyone else in God’s entire universe!
“Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering...Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee....Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffic; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.” Ezekiel 28:13, 15, 18-19.
8) After all sinners, all evil angels, including Lucifer himself have been fully consumed, then will there ever be any possibility that any of God’s creation will ever again suffer death?
“For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” 1 Corinthians 15:21-26.
Death entered because Satan seduced Adam and Eve to break God’s command and commit sin, and Christ's ultimate victory will occur when He finally defeats this last remaining enemy. Then “death will be swallowed up in victory” (1 Corinthians 15:54). And the resurrected righteous will be able to say:
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” 1 Corinthians 15:55.
9) This glorious hope of life after death is only made possible by our Lord and “Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” (2 Timothy 1:10). And very soon, death itself will die by being cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:14) to nevermore afflict the children of men!
There is indeed hope of life after death – but only through Jesus Christ.
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” John 11:25-26.
Dear one, Jesus is the only way that you can have life after death. Buddha, Christna, Mohammad, Maitreya, or any other spiritualistic medium or shaman cannot grant you eternal life. And neither can any pope, priest, minister, elder, teacher, nor church grant you eternal life either! Life after death can only be found through Jesus Christ, and if you should totally reject Jesus Christ as your Saviour, or if after accepting Him you choose to forever walk away from Him, then you will be eternally lost!
10) How can you save yourself from such a fiery and terrible destruction in the lake of fire?
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life....that the world through him might be saved....and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." John 3:16-17, 36.
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; an purify your hearts, ye double-minded....Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." James 4:7-8, 10.
"And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteousness: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked." 1 John 2:1-6.
